Chamois ham is made by hand of selected chamois meat, seasoned with finest herbs and mildly smoked over beech wood. It is gently dried and matured in the fresh mountain air until it reaches the right degree of maturity.
Thanks to its full flavor and character it is mainly recommended for use as a starter but it goes also well cut into fine slices for a traditional “Marende” (snack).
Remove the packaging foil from your ham and allow it to breathe for at least one hour at room temperature so that it has a chance to develop its full aroma.
Once unwrapped from its original packaging, you can safely store the ham in a cool and dark place (cellar).
The cut surface of open ham may dry out. This means no loss of quality. Simply cut off a slice to continue enjoying.
